Join members of Clark's improv teams for a class full of fun. We'll be going through some basic improv games and ideas.

A969: The Clark Keys Present: A Cappella Workshop!

Do you like music? Are you interesting in singing? Well, you are in luck! In this class, students will learn what A Cappella music is and will learn sections of a song alongside one of Clark Universities A Cappella groups: The Clark Keys!!

A974: Law and Order: Splash Victims Unit

In this class, we will be focusing on a famous, long-running, crime drama t.v. show: Law and Order: SVU. The class will consist of short clips from the series. We will then analyze the show and their characters from both a writer and viewers' perspective to discuss character development and how this show relates to our life.

*Previous knowledge of Law and Order: SVU will be helpful for this class

A975: Dance it Out: Intro to Contemporary Dance!

Whether you've been taking ballet since you could walk or you're new to dance, you'll have a blast in this class. We'll learn a few popular moves, get creative with some improv, and perform a short routine for each other. Let's get moving!

In this intro class we will be learning how to sketch and color still objects using pencil and colored pencils, perfect for beginner and intermediate young artists. Supplies will be provided but students are encouraged to bring other supplies as well.

M985: Go: the game and how a computer beat it Full!

Go is a strategy board game that was invented more than 2,000 years ago and believed to be the oldest board game continuously played to the present day. Despite having more possible positions atoms in the universe, the rules are very simple and can be learned within a few minutes. In this class you will learn how to play the game and learn how a machine had a historic breakthrough by beating a Go world champion in 2016.

Have you ever wondered how you can image the atomic structure of materials? In this class you will learn how one basic concept of quantum mechanics allowed for the development of a state-of-the-art experimental technique, scanning tunneling microscopy, to do just this. This class will include a demonstration of Clark’s scanning tunneling microscope.

Is it a liquid? Is it a solid? No, IT'S OOBLECK! Clark's Women in STEM is excited to teach this popular class again in which students will learn about the physics and chemistry behind oobleck - a slimy, goopy substance. Additionally, students will make their own oobleck in their chosen color! Join us for some fun science!

Presented by a student who is completely blind, this inspirational and interactive class will focus on how people who are blind and who suffer from anxiety and depression can use their strengths to overcome challenges and obstacles in life. Even if you don't face these same challenges, this class will provide you with tools and strategies to remain on a positive and meaningful life track, regardless of what difficulties you may face and need to overcome in order to personally achieve your greatest potential and to succeed in whatever goals you set for yourself.

This class aims to introduce students to the art of self defense. It reviews a variety of topics: psychological awareness, verbal skills and physical training. It is to be noted that the creators, organizers and teachers of this class do not encourage use of violence. It is also important to note that this is a introduction to self defense therefore we make no claims that this one class is sufficient. Learning self defense is a active task that involves constant awareness and practice with proper guidance and safety precautions. This or any other self defense classes do not ensure complete safety and we do not claim otherwise.


Prerequisites
This class is taught under the assumption that students possess no prior knowledge on the following subjects: self defense, and Martials Arts. We do recommend that students come dressed in gym clothes or comfortable clothes and shoes that do not hinder the physical training portion of the course

X979: Fun with Hula Hoops & Sidewalk Chalk Full!

Come have fun outdoors as we practice and improve our hula hooping skills. How long can you hula hoop? We will play some super fun games with our hula hoops in teams and on our own! You can draw pictures, and play hopscotch too. Bring old friends and meet new ones. Let's have fun!

Sometimes with our friends, family, school and other responsibilities we forget to take care of ourselves. Join this class to create a vision board. We'll focus on making a collage filled with our goals, aspirations, and what we love about ourselves. Hang this collage in your room to remind yourself to take care of you and that you matter.
