Have you ever wanted to have a conversation, but couldn't speak? American Sign Language, also known as ASL, is a language spoken through gestures and facial expressions, without the use of a person's voice. In this course, you will learn basic signs, such as the alphabet, and basic sentence structure.


H882: Life In Silence: Learning About American Sign Language and Deaf Culture in Splash Fall 2017 (Nov. 19, 2017)
How do you communicate when you can't hear or speak, and how might that be a challenge in a person's life? Over 10 million Americans today experience some form of hearing loss, and many communicate using American Sign Language, also known as ASL. In this course, you will discuss deaf culture, and learn some basic signs, including the alphabet, as well as others that you, or someone you meet, may need.
