Always wanted to be a teacher! Grew up in Worcester my whole life, seen it all! Aside from my schooling, I love bowling and video games, and love to draw! Also, I am a sucker for animals. Those rascals get me every time..................

S801: GAAAAH, A ZOMBIE!: The Science Behind "The Walking Dead" in Splash Spring 2017 (Apr. 02, 2017)
This course is designed to go in-depth into what has now become one of the most popular TV shows in America today: "The Walking Dead." How does one become a zombie? What allows for zombies to hunt for food? Why must heroes like Rick or Michonne kill the zombies only through their heads? Are we able to explain the neuroscience behind these apocalyptic figures? Finally, we shall try to answer the one question that will loom in everyone's mind: is a zombie apocalypse really possible in real life!?

H803: U.S. Presidents: The Good & The Bad in Splash Spring 2017 (Apr. 02, 2017)
There have been 45 presidents of the United States, from the very first, George Washington, to the current president, Donald Trump. But who is considered the best and the worst presidents the united States has ever had? More importantly, WHY are they considered the best and worst? We will briefly look at the biggest accomplishments of the more notable presidents in U.S. history and decide where they place in the record books as either the best or the worst.


X709: HACKED: The Dangers of Social Media in Splash Fall 2016 (Nov. 13, 2016)
There isn't a day that goes by when we're not uploading a photo to Instagram or checking our Twitter feeds. It's a simple science: we, in the twenty-first century, have become addicted to social media. But have we ever really wondered what dangers lurk with it? This course will examine these threats and further our understanding of what may happen if we don't act on them. From hacking to online bullying, these dangers come in many forms, and thus our goal of the class is to come up with action plans for each of these. To clarify: this is NOT an anti-social media class, but rather a course to make note of the threats that having Facebook, Twitter, etc. pose, and come up with solutions to each of these problems.

Does Nicki Minaj rule the world? Are Jay-Z and Beyoncé an actual power couple? Is Rihanna after world domination? Why are so many famous people that we have come to know and love associated with a "secret cult"? The Illuminati was once feared, and now it is feared again today. We will explore what the Illuminati stood for in the late 18th century, what caused their suppression, and why they are believed to be alive today. We will also examine why common celebrities are linked to this secret society, and what we, as part of the larger society, should do.

What is the story behind the creation of the "Legend of Zelda" series? How did "Call of Duty" get its name? And whose bright idea was it to make a short Italian with a fantastic moustache go after a princess named after a fruit!? All of these questions and more are answered here! We will look at a grief history of some of pop culture's most famous video game franchises. We will investigate the backstories behind these games, research the creators of the games, and discuss how these games have become so popular due to their creative histories. At the end, we will look at important periods of history ourselves to come up with cool video game ideas ourselves!
