Do you like music? Do you like to sing? Come join The Clark Keys in our a cappella singing workshop! No experience needed, just come and have some fun with one of Clark's three a cappella singing groups!

A1006: Improv w Shenanigans!

Shenanigans! performs improv & sketch comedy at Clark. Improv is theater that you make up as you go along, and we'd like to share some of our tricks to pull it off.

H1001: What's Love Got To Do With It? A Beginner's Guide to Asexuality and Aromantacism

Asexuality and aromantacism have become more and more visible in our society, but they're still foreign to a lot of people. This class will discuss what those words mean, the different forms they take, and some history of these orientations' and their rise to mainstream visibility.

H1017: Know Your Rights!

Just because you have free speech doesn't mean your teachers can't tell you not to swear at school...but why? Find out! This is your chance to learn the basics of your rights and what happens if someone violates them. We'll discuss the Supreme Court and the law and how it applies to every person.

Interested in Public Health? Or what aspects of the world affect our health? This course is a basic introductory class about the discipline of public health. We will discuss what public health is, the social determinants of health, the various aspects that make up the entire discipline, and careers in public health. There will be a time for questions afterwards also.

M999: Go: the game and how a computer beat it

Go is a strategy board game that was invented more than 2,000 years ago and believed to be the oldest board game continuously played to the present day. Despite having more possible positions atoms in the universe, the rules are very simple and can be learned within a few minutes. In this class you will learn how to play the game and learn how a machine had a historic breakthrough by beating a Go world champion in 2016.

S1007: Black Holes and Outer Space

We'll learn about what black holes are and what we know about them. We'll also talk about the difficulties of studying them and how it was possible to get a picture of one.

S1009: It's in your DNA Full!

Students will get to extract their own DNA from their saliva. As a bonus, they can take their DNA home in a nice vial.

Learn about your place in society and how social structures influence your life!

S1013: How Human Being Change Over a Lifetime

We will be showing an episode of the "Mentalist" and discussing developmental theories that arise in each person's case. We will be providing students with developmental theories and their definition beforehand, so they know what to look for.

S1016: It's a solid! It's a liquid! It's oobleck!

Is it a liquid? Is it a solid? No, IT'S OOBLECK! Clark's Women in STEM is excited to teach this popular class again in which students will learn about the physics and chemistry behind oobleck - a strange, goopy substance. Students will also make their own oobleck in a color of their choice - join us for some fun science!

S1019: Imaging Atoms Full!

Have you ever wondered how you can image the atomic structure of materials? In this class you will learn how one basic concept of quantum mechanics allowed for the development of a state-of-the-art experimental technique, scanning tunneling microscopy, to do just this. This class will include a demonstration of Clark’s scanning tunneling microscope.

X998: Self Defence

This class aims to introduce students to the art of self defense. It reviews a variety of topics: psychological awareness, verbal skills and physical training. It is to be noted that the creators, organizers and teachers of this class do not encourage use of violence. It is also important to note that this is a introduction to self defense therefore we make no claims that this one class is sufficient. Learning self defense is a active task that involves constant awareness and practice with proper guidance and safety precautions. This or any other self defense classes do not ensure complete safety and we do not claim otherwise.


Prerequisites
This class is taught under the assumption that students possess no prior knowledge on the following subjects: self defense, and Martials Arts. We do recommend that students come dressed in gym clothes or comfortable clothes and shoes that do not hinder the physical training portion of the course

This course is for you! All in time for the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield!

Have you ever wanted to learn about physical and mental challenges that many people face and how they adapt to them to lead successful and rewarding lives, allowing them to achieve life's goals? Presented by a student who is completely blind, this inspirational and interactive class will focus on how people who are blind and who suffer from anxiety and depression can use their strengths to overcome challenges and obstacles in life. Even if you don't face these same challenges, this class will provide you with tools and strategies to remain on a positive and meaningful life track, regardless of what difficulties you may face and need to overcome in order to personally achieve your greatest potential and to succeed in whatever goals you set for yourself.
