A642: Film School In A Box: A Crash Course in Cinematic Literacy and Filmmaking in Splash Spring 2016 (Apr. 10, 2016)
Film is one of the most powerful modes of storytelling available to us today. It has the ability to manipulate feelings, change beliefs, and generate excitement--and yet, film classes are rare below the college level. Come learn some of the basics of film theory and filmmaking, and gain understanding of a medium that is often under-analyzed. We will learn to talk about and think critically about mainstream cinema, and also go over the basics of how (and why) to become filmmakers ourselves.
