H219: Diversity - How Important is It? in Splash Fall 2013 (Nov. 16, 2013)
Throughout Human history, people have divided themselves into a multitude of unique and sprawling cultures that have defined the Human experience. This course examines cultural diversity and looks at its necessity from both a local and global standpoint. Diversity includes many ways of seeing and interpreting the world around us, and in this class we discuss why it's important to accept people from any cultural background as a way of enriching ourselves. This class is for anyone who loves the world and all its varied Human landscapes and provides a forum to discuss issues relating to cultural diversity in our time.
