H907: Autism: Fact and Fiction in Splash Spring 2018 (Apr. 08, 2018)
1 out of every 100 people in the world is on the autism spectrum, yet many people do not understand all aspects of autism. In this class, we'll cover traits associated with autism, sociocultural aspects of the disorder, and contemporary autism-related activism, as well as a general overview of abnormal psychology. If you're interested in psychology, disorders, or disability rights, then this is the class for you!


H848: Autism: Fact and Fiction in Splash Fall 2017 (Nov. 19, 2017)
Are you interested in abnormal psychology, autism spectrum disorders, or the disability rights movement? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then this is the class for you. Autism: Fact and Fiction goes into the psychological and sociocultural aspects of the autism. We will discuss in detail common misconceptions about autism and misrepresentations of the disorder in the media.
