H816: Morality and Ethics: How Our Choices Shape Our World in Splash Spring 2017 (Apr. 02, 2017)
In this course we will be exploring the complexities of the concepts of morality and ethics and how they affect our everyday life. We will look at classic examples of morality in question, such as the train problem. We will also discuss historical instances of morality and ethics-based action and/or inaction. Examples may include: the My Lai massacre, the case of Bernie Goetz, and the Holocaust. The goal of the course is not to resolve anything, but rather to have students walk away asking questions and critically examining the world around them.
