H202: Philosophy Of Love in Splash Fall 2013 (Nov. 16, 2013)
Together, Mr.&Ms. U conduct a brief co-lecture followed by discussion on Plato's influential and widely-known dialogue "The Symposium". Socrates and several of his most famous interlocutors (dialogue partners) are represented throughout the work with their respective ideas of Love (eros, philos, etc.). This introductory course educates students about the foundation of philosophical speculation regarding what is arguably humans' most complex yet deterministic feature - our capacity to Love.
