Our next Splash event will be April 07, 2024!

Splash Teacher Agreement

Teacher Rights

You can expect:
From the program directors:

  • Guidance: if you have a question about anything, they should answer it or refer you to someone who can.
  • Space sufficient for your class.
  • Other reasonable resources required for the class.

From the students:

  • Respectful, cooperative behavior.

Teacher Expectations
You agree to:

  • Commit to punctual attendance at every class during the program, starting and ending each session on time.
  • Provide your students with as interesting and engaging lessons and activities as possible.
  • Discuss your financial plan with the program directors before purchasing anything for your class
  • Not mention, show, or reference drugs, sex, or alcohol. (If these are an inherent part of your class, discuss it with the directors first.)
  • Seek advice from the directors for any problems (or hints of problems) that come up – we’re here to help!
  • Maintain a respectful, professional, mentoring relationship with the students.
  • Refrain from any intimate contact with or inappropriate touching of students.
  • Appear clean, neat, and dressed appropriately for all program activities, wearing the provided name tag and preferably a Splash t-shirt.
  • Refrain from profanity, inappropriate jokes, sharing intimate details of one’s personal life, displaying offensive or sexually explicit materials in any form, and any other kind of inappropriate behavior in the presence of a student.
  • Act as a positive role model for students by demonstrating patience, courtesy, tact and maturity.
  • Not physically discipline or emotionally abuse students.
  • Endeavor to limit one-on-one interactions with students to open, public areas.
  • Contact students only using the auto-generated email list, and not through social media of any kind.

Other than the above expectations, your class is totally up to you. Have some fun!

Any teacher found to be in violation of this agreement may be dismissed from the program and/or prohibiting from teaching at future programs.
